Jesus Calls

We are often reminded that Jesus is calling us. We are constantly told we have the choice to pick up or decline His calls, and we are encouraged to make the right decision without further explanation. What isn’t spoken on enough, though, is what Jesus is calling us to do and what happens when we answer and say yes to Him.

When Jesus walked this earth, He commit no sin. He was and is perfect and set an example of the life we should live. And although we as humans aren’t perfect, the Lord put us on this earth to spread love and His word. The Bible gives us a perfect outline of what we were called to do and how to do it. It’s like a manual! It provides us with wisdom from the most wise of all. The 10 commandments are the 10 essential rules we must follow in life, loving one another and most importantly, loving and honoring God. If you’re not sure of your purpose, and what God has put you on this earth for, call out to Him. Pray to Him. Read His word and look for answers. Never doubt your worth and your purpose as His child, because He loves you and He has a plan for us all.

It is a common misconception that when you accept Jesus, life suddenly has no rainy days, and you no longer struggle with sin. Wrong! Very, very wrong! Life will continue to do what life does, but by having a firm foundation in Jesus, we can live a life that will not be shaken by the evils and suffers of the world. Our worries, our fears, our sins, all of it can be cast upon the Lord because He wants to carry our burdens for us. Lord knows we will sin as long as we exist and that can be discouraging to some. Keep in mind that following Jesus is not about perfecting the “Christian lifestyle”, it is about progressing into a child of God. When you love the Lord, not for what He can do but for who He is, and when you have lived for the Lord, not for what He promises us but because He gave up His life for ours, then you will experience eternal life with Him with no suffering or sin, only salvation!
