Welcome back, fellow journeyers! As Isabella takes a magical detour through Disney this weekend, we're reminded that our spiritual journey travels with us wherever we go. Today's post is a delightful blend of fairytales and faith, demonstrating that even amid the enchantment of vacation, our bond with God remains steadfast. Vacations are a time for relaxation, exploration, and making magical memories. They are an escape from our regular routines, a pause from the daily grind. But should they also be a break from our spiritual journey? Absolutely not! Join us as we explore this topic and share unique insights. Let's embark on this faith-filled adventure together!

1) Pray, Pray, Pray!

Prayer is our direct communication with God, and just because you’re going on vacation or going out of town, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to pray. In fact, it may be more important to pray when you are stepping out of your normal routine, because you will face all sorts of temptations, tests, and trials. You will need God.

Prayer works the same no matter where you are.

Praying even when you’re out of your common cycle can actually improve your relationship with God because it shows that your bond with him is not based on comfortability but based on intentionality. You aren’t just praying to Him because it’s part of your to do list, you are praying to Him because you want to stay close to our Father at all times.

Matthew 26:41

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

2) Apps

When you’re going out and you don’t have your physical Bible, you can still get in your word.

Download biblical apps to stay connected to the Truth.

Bible App - You can read the verse of the day and listen to the videos and devotionals that they provide, which elaborate on the verse.

They also provide Bible plans that you can complete little-by-little daily to engage in your faith.

Glorify - This app provides very insightful daily devotionals. They have guided prayer audios and meditations as well for different emotions and wishes.

Bible Project - You can watch videos that explain different aspects and concepts about the Bible. There are shorter videos for summaries and longer videos for in-depth explanations.

Proverbs 30:5

"Every word of God is flawless;

he is a shield to those who take refuge in him."

3) Admire Your Surroundings

When you’re on vacation and you’re taking a tour through wherever you’re at, take a second to take in everything around you. The trees, the grass, the beautiful nature. And take a moment to thank God for the beauties He has created. Appreciate the environment you’re experiencing and remember that it was all God’s doing. Never stop thanking God for allowing you to be able to witness His creations.

Job 12:7-10

"But ask the animals, and they will teach you,

or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;

or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,

or let the fish in the sea inform you.

Which of all these does not know

that the hand of the Lord has done this?

In his hand is the life of every creature

and the breath of all mankind."

4) Sharing Love and the Gospel

Now that you’re going to be around new people and in a new environment, take the time to share God’s word! Pray to the Lord to help you and guide you in sharing His wise words, and go out and meet new people. Get to know a little more about them and share with them the beautiful life the Lord has brought you. We know it might be a little scary at first to try and put yourself out there like that, but He is by your side and He is so proud of your efforts. Be kind to random strangers and help out anybody you can. Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you take time off from loving those around you!

Romans 1:16

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile."

As we conclude, remember that vacations can indeed be sanctuaries for our soul. No matter where our travels take us, our spiritual journey continues. We hope these tips help you keep the divine connection alive and vibrant during your holidays. Until next time, keep exploring, keep praying, and keep growing in faith. Safe travels and God bless!
