It is common for us to get too caught up in the world and forget what God’s word has told us. Here is a list of verses to read whenever you are going through all sorts of emotions.

Overwhelmed/Stressed

  • “For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his” Hebrews 4:10 NIV

  • “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28

Ashamed

  • “For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” Matthew 9:13 NIV

Alone

  • “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age” Matthew 28:20 NIV

  • “the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden” Genesis 39:21 NIV

Distant/Weak in Faith

  • “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it” Matthew 10:39 NIV

  • “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” 2 Corinthians 5:17

  • “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd” Mark 6:32 NIV

  • “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away” Genesis 5:24 NIV

Doubtful

  • “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Genesis 18:14 NIV

  • “But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt” Genesis 19:26 NIV

  • “I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit” Mark 1:8 NIV

  • “‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes’.” Mark 9:23 NIV

Happy

  • Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.” Ecclesiastes 9:7 NIV

  • “"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'” Matthew 25:21 NIV

  • “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” John 15:11

Sad

  • I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NIV

  • For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

  • “‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NIV

  • “Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[1]I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4 NIV

Anxious

  • “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peters 5:7 NIV

  • Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.” Luke 12:22 NIV


In Love

  • Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

  • A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.” Proverbs 31:10-11 NIV

  • As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NIV

Hopeless

  • “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV

  • “I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber;” Psalm 121:1-3 NIV

  • For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:24-15 NIV
